What is the best way to lose middle fat?

im 5'2" and 160lbs. my ideal goal is 125-130lbs. most of my weight hangs out in the middle and chest areas. i don't have much control over what i eat. i would like to know about effective fat loss and muscle toning excersizes.
Answer:
I recently read about a study that said weights/resistance training was the most effective way to lose the middle fat (specifically, the fat around your internal organs, which apparently is worse than other fat in terms of health consequences).

if you go to the gym, you can ask someone there to show you how to correctly use all the nautilus-style weight machines, and a good basic routine is to just do a "circuit" of the room, doing about 15-20 repetitions on each machine. start at a very low weight and then try to increase it every week or two.

you should make sure you're eating a balanced diet, with plenty of fruits and vegetables. try to cut out (or at least reduce) "empty calorie" foods like sodas and potato chips, and otherwise just reduce the size of your meals (a good rule is to eat until you're not hungry, as opposed to eating until you're full).

in the long run, it's usually not effective to make drastic dietary changes. the majority of people who go on extreme diets (such as atkins) eventually regain the weight that they lost. it's better to make smaller "lifestyle changes", things that you can sustain indefinitely without going crazy.
