A surrogate mother is when a man and a woman hire another woman to have their baby. The couple cant have children. So they take her egg and his sperm and have it implanted by a doctor into the surrogate mother. Then she gives birth 9 months later to that couples biological baby. She is techincally the mother because she gave birth but genetically she is not the mother.
